How much does a funeral slideshow cost?

How much does a funeral slideshow cost?

Making a funeral presentation yourself with our tool costs €24.95 per funeral, including VAT. Building it and a trial version with watermark are free. If you would rather have us make the presentation, that is possible on request. Below you can read exactly what is included, which costs a crematorium or venue sometimes charges and how much time doing it yourself takes.

How much does a funeral slideshow cost in our tool?

Building the presentation is free. You can add all your photos, music and blocks and look at a trial version with watermark. You only pay when you create the final version.

NumberPrice per funeralTotal
1 credit€24.95€24.95
5 credits€22.95€114.75
10 credits€19.95€199.50

All prices include 21% VAT. You pay by credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay and more. There is no subscription: you only buy what you use. Most families need just one credit. The bundles are meant for funeral directors and venues that make presentations more often. The current overview is on our pricing page.

What is included in the final version?

For one credit you get:

  • the PowerPoint file (.pptx) for Microsoft PowerPoint on Windows and Mac;
  • a running order PDF with the order of the service;
  • an instruction document for the operator, with the moments to click;
  • a shareable download link for the venue, with no account needed.

When you click "Finalise", you fix the date of the funeral. After that, you can make changes free of charge and generate it again until 7 days after the funeral. The new version is available at the same link. So a forgotten photo or a swapped song costs you nothing extra.

For funeral directors

If you are a funeral director or venue making presentations regularly, the bundles of 5 or 10 credits cost less per funeral. You will find more information on the page for funeral directors.

How much does it cost to have a funeral presentation made?

If you would rather not do it yourself, we can make the presentation for you on request. You send us the photos, the music and the running order. The price mainly depends on the number of photos and how much still needs sorting or cropping; get in touch with us for a tailored price.

You can also arrange it through your funeral director. Whether that is possible, how it works and what it costs varies from one funeral director to another. Ask about it at your first meeting. You will find the three routes side by side in having a funeral presentation made or making it yourself.

And having a tribute video edited?

A tribute video is not the same as a presentation. A video is one continuous film; a presentation follows the service and waits for the speakers. Prices for having a photo slideshow or film made vary. At crematoria that use the media company Obitus, you can have one made through the crematorium: at Newcastle-under-Lyme Bereavement Services (prices from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027), a music tribute of up to 25 photos costs £95, and a themed tribute, professionally edited and timed to a piece of music, costs £110. For a personally edited film you usually ask for a quote. You can read about the difference between the two in tribute video or PowerPoint.

What does the venue charge?

Many UK crematoria work with a media system from a specialist company such as Obitus. A single photo shown during the service is often free: at Mintlyn Crematorium (Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, fees from 1 April 2026), a single holding photo shown throughout the service costs nothing. Anything more is usually charged separately, and it differs from one crematorium to the next, so do check.

Two examples from published price lists:

  • Mintlyn Crematorium (from 1 April 2026): webcast to watch live and for up to 28 days £67, with a download link £78, a family supplied video played during the ceremony £35.
  • Newcastle-under-Lyme Bereavement Services (1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027): webcast live and on demand for 28 days £70, a family supplied video or photo tribute £40, a keepsake copy on DVD or USB £75.

So showing a tribute you have made yourself is often a separate item at UK crematoria. Newcastle-under-Lyme also states that all media must go through Obitus and that the crematorium cannot accept CDs or USB sticks sent directly. Ask the crematorium in good time whether they can play a PowerPoint file (.pptx) and how they would like to receive it. If you want the service to be streamed, also read about showing the funeral presentation during a livestream.

The hidden costs of doing it yourself

Making a presentation yourself in PowerPoint seems free, but it is not always. There are two things most people do not take into account.

Time

Choosing the photos and music takes the most time, and that time is the same whichever route you take. On top of that comes the technical work. Setting the timing for each slide in PowerPoint, keeping music playing across several slides and checking that everything ends at the right moment can easily take up an evening. It regularly happens that someone discovers, the evening before handing it in, that the music stops at the third slide.

In the tool, the time per photo is matched to the song automatically. Once your photos and music are ready, you can build the running order in half an hour to an hour. You can work out how many photos you need per song with the table for the number of photos per song.

Software and materials

For PowerPoint you need a licence from Microsoft, usually through a Microsoft 365 subscription. Microsoft 365 Personal costs £84.99 a year or £8.49 a month (price October 2026). Free alternatives such as LibreOffice and Keynote do not handle the timing and music in a funeral presentation well. For the tool you do not need any software; the venue plays the file in Microsoft PowerPoint.

There are sometimes small costs as well: a USB stick as a backup, or having old slides or negatives digitised at a photo shop. More on that in digitising old photos for the funeral.

Where you can save

Start in good time. If you begin at least three days before the funeral, you have time to choose calmly and do not need to have anything done in a rush. Venues often want the presentation 24 hours in advance, at the weekend sometimes 48 to 72 hours. The complete step by step guide is in making a funeral presentation, step by step.
