Privacy policy

Funeral-ppt.com (hereinafter: “the tool”) helps you create a PowerPoint presentation for a funeral service. In this work we process personal data, including photos and details of deceased persons and their relatives. We handle this carefully and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In this policy we explain which data we process, why, for how long and what rights you have.
1. Data controller
Funeral-ppt.com is a service of Du Preez Creaties, a sole proprietorship registered with
the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 84894814, VAT NL004036433B34.

2. Which data we process
| Account data | Your email address and an encrypted representation (hash) of your password. We never store your password as readable text. If you sign in with Google, we receive only your email address from Google; we do not get access to your Google account. |
| Presentation content | The photos, music, videos, names and texts you upload or enter for a service. These may contain sensitive data (images of deceased persons). We use these solely to generate your presentation and do not view the content, except where this is strictly necessary for support or to resolve a malfunction. |
| Payment data | The amount, the chosen package and a payment reference. The payment itself is handled by Mollie; we do not receive or store full bank account or card details. |
| Technical data | Limited server logs (such as IP address and time) for security and to prevent abuse. |
3. Purposes and legal bases
- Providing the service (account, creating and downloading presentations). Legal basis: performance of the contract.
- Payment and administration. Legal basis: performance of the contract and a legal obligation (tax retention duty).
- Security and abuse prevention. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- Contact and support. Legal basis: performance of the contract or legitimate interest.
4. How long we keep data
- Presentations and media (including the photos) are automatically and completely deleted 30 days after the funeral date, or 30 days after finalising if no date has been entered. Until then you can still download the files; shortly beforehand we send a reminder about this. Unfinished concepts we delete 90 days after the last change. You can also always delete a service yourself earlier.
- Account data we keep for as long as you have an account; after deletion of your account it is removed.
- Payment and invoice data we keep for 7 years in connection with the statutory tax retention duty.
- Password reset links expire after 1 hour.
5. Processors and third parties
We engage other parties who process data on our behalf. We conclude processor agreements with them:
- Mollie B.V.: handling payments.
- Strato AG: hosting the servers on which the tool and the data run (data centres in Germany, within the EU).
- Google Ireland Limited: anonymous visitor statistics via Google Analytics (see section 7).
Emails (such as reset links) are sent via our own mail server, with SMTP2GO as a fallback delivery service; in both cases only the email address and the message itself are processed for delivery (see also section 6 on transfers).
We do not sell your data and we show no advertising. We do use Google Analytics to see anonymously how the website is used; cookies for this are only placed with your consent (see section 7).
6. Transfers outside the EU
We aim to process data within the European Economic Area. Should a processor process data outside the EEA, this takes place on the basis of the appropriate safeguards prescribed by the GDPR (such as the EU standard contractual clauses).
7. Cookies and statistics
Functional cookie. The tool uses one functional cookie to remember your logged-in session. This is necessary for it to work and is not used to track you; no consent is required for it.
Analytical cookies (Google Analytics). Only if you click “Accept” in the cookie notice does Google Analytics place cookies with which we see anonymously how the website is used: which pages are visited, approximate location (at city/region level) and the type of device and browser. Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses. We keep these statistics for a maximum of 14 months and do not use them for advertising.
If you decline, no analytical cookies are placed. At most, anonymous, cookie-free signals are then sent from which only total visitor numbers can be estimated; these cannot be traced back to you.
Your choice is stored on your own device and you can change it at any time via (also found at the bottom of every page). For more information on how Google handles data, read the Google privacy policy.
8. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (TLS), encrypted storage of passwords and access control to the services and data.
9. Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. To exercise these, please contact us via the contact page. If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or with the supervisory authority in your own country.
10. Changes
We may amend this privacy policy. The current version is always on this page, with the date of the last change at the top.
