Frequently asked questions

Everything about building the order of service, photos and music, the trial version, the costs and playing at the venue. Is your question not here? We are glad to help.

Getting started

What does this tool do differently from building something in PowerPoint yourself?

The tool automatically builds in the technical work that is hard to create yourself in PowerPoint: music that plays across several slides, photo timing worked out from the length of the song, slides that wait for a click at speakers, looping music at the final farewell and video that starts by itself. You just fill in the order of service.

Do I need to be good with PowerPoint?

No. You just fill in the order of service: which music plays, which photos go with it and who speaks. The tool builds in all the PowerPoint technical work automatically, from music that plays across slides to the right click moments.

Can I try it for free first?

Yes. An account is free and you can build the complete order of service and view unlimited trial versions without paying. The trial version has a watermark and photos at a lower resolution. You only need 1 credit for the final version.

Does the tool also work on a tablet or phone?

Yes. The tool runs in the browser and works on a tablet and phone too. That is handy for uploading photos straight from your phone. To play the presentation itself you need a computer with Microsoft PowerPoint.

How quickly is the presentation ready?

As soon as the order of service is set, the tool builds the complete PowerPoint in one go and it is ready to download straight away. You do not assemble the presentation yourself; that quickly saves you hours of work. Only with a great many photos or a video does building take a little longer. In between you can make a free trial version as often as you like.

Photos, music and video

Which files can I upload and how large may they be?

Photos as JPG, PNG or HEIC (the standard format of iPhone photos), music as MP3, M4A or WAV and video as MP4. Do you have a song only as a video? Then you can use that MP4 as music too: the tool extracts the audio track. Everything is converted automatically into the right format for PowerPoint. A photo may be at most 30 MB, a music file 150 MB and a video 800 MB.

How many photos should I use per piece of music and how long is each photo on screen?

Between 20 and 25 photos per song usually works well; we recommend around 8 seconds per photo. The tool spreads the length of the song across the photos automatically, including the fades, so the last photo ends exactly together with the music. With fewer photos each photo therefore stays on screen longer, and with more photos shorter.

Can I crop photos?

Yes. In the editor you can crop any photo, for example to single someone out of a group photo. The original is kept, so you can adjust or undo the crop at any time.

How do portrait photos look on screen?

Portrait photos are never stretched or cut off: they appear neatly on screen with space beside them. For that space you choose a background yourself: a calm colour, your own image or a background from the built-in library, dimmed further if needed so the photo keeps all the attention.

What is the fixed photo?

The fixed photo is a photo, for example the memorial photo, that recurs at several moments: at the entrance, during the speakers and at the final farewell. That brings calm: during an address the same image always stays on screen. You set the photo once and tick per section that you want to use it.

Am I allowed to use the music?

Playing music during a funeral service is subject to copyright. Crematoria and funeral homes usually have a collective licensing arrangement for this; ask the venue about it. You remain responsible for the material you upload, see the terms of service.

Can I show a video too?

Yes. You add a video block and upload an MP4. The video starts by itself as soon as the slide appears on screen, plays with its own sound and then the presentation continues automatically.

Trial, final and costs

What does it cost?

Building it and a watermarked trial version are free. The final version costs 1 credit: €19.95 per funeral. Bundles: 5 credits for €89.75 (€17.95 per funeral) or 10 credits for €149.50 (€14.95 per funeral). Prices including 21% VAT. See the pricing page.

What is the difference between the trial version and the final version?

The trial version is free and fully working, but has a watermark on screen and photos at a lower resolution. The final version is without a watermark and in full quality, and comes with the instruction document and a shareable download link for the venue. The credit is only charged once the final export has succeeded.

Why is the date of the funeral mandatory?

For the final version the date of the funeral is mandatory and may be at most 30 days in the future. The date determines how long the service stays free to edit (until 7 days after the funeral) and when the files are deleted automatically (30 days after the funeral). After the first final export the date is fixed. A draft that has not yet been made final can have any date.

Can I still adjust the presentation after downloading?

Yes. After the final export the service stays free to edit until 7 days after the date of the funeral, at no extra cost. After that the service is locked; reopening it to edit costs 1 credit. Downloading stays possible until the service is deleted automatically 30 days after the funeral.

Do credits expire?

No, credits have no expiry date and stay linked to your account until you use them. They are not paid out in cash. You can cancel a purchase of still-unused credits within 14 days.

How can I pay and do I get an invoice?

You can pay by credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay and more. An invoice showing VAT is available straight away as a PDF under My account for every purchase, handy for your bookkeeping.

On the day itself

How does the funeral venue get the presentation?

The final version comes with a shareable download link. The venue uses it to download the presentation and the instruction document, with no account or sign-in. The link stays valid until the service is deleted automatically.

What is the instruction document and what does the person operating the presentation have to do?

The instruction document is a PDF that comes with the final version. It states, for each moment, which slide belongs to which section, where a click is needed and which music plays, with the duration alongside. Music and video play by themselves; only at speakers and at the final farewell does the presentation wait for a click. Funeral directors can have their own logo and contact details placed on it.

Is internet needed at the venue?

No. All photos, music and videos are contained within the PowerPoint file itself. Download the presentation in advance onto the computer it will be played on; during the service no internet connection is needed.

Does the presentation work on any computer?

The presentation is an ordinary .pptx file and works in Microsoft PowerPoint on Windows and Mac. Do not play it in LibreOffice, Keynote or an online viewer: these do not reproduce the timing and music correctly.

Working together, account and privacy

Can I work together with a colleague or family member?

Yes. You can invite people per service through an invitation link. They can help edit the service and all changes are visible in a log.

What happens to the photos after the funeral?

A service is deleted automatically and completely 30 days after the date of the funeral, including all photos, music and generated files. Until then you can download the files; shortly beforehand we send a reminder. This way we do not keep personal data any longer than necessary. You can also delete a service yourself earlier at any time. See also the privacy policy.

I have forgotten my password. What now?

Choose Forgot password on the login screen; you will then receive an email with a recovery link. You can also sign in with your Google account, in which case you do not need a separate password.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, under My account. Your account is then deleted straight away, with all services, photos, music and generated files. We only keep invoicing data for as long as the law requires.
